Originally established under the auspices of the University of Bucharest (UniBuc), IRSR has served as a vital platform for disseminating high-quality research across multiple social science disciplines.

Mission and Aims

IRSR aims to foster scholarly exchange and promote innovative research in the social sciences. The journal provides an inclusive forum for researchers, practitioners, and policy analysts worldwide to share their findings, methodologies, and theoretical perspectives.

Our scope encompasses a broad range of social science topics, including but not limited to:

  • Sociology and social theory
  • Cultural and social anthropology
  • Political science and governance
  • Environmental sociology
  • Migration studies
  • Health communication and public health
  • Social enterprise and civil society
  • Social network analysis
  • Public administration and policy

Open Access Commitment

IRSR is committed to the principles of open access publishing. All articles are freely available to readers worldwide, removing barriers to knowledge dissemination and ensuring that research findings reach the broadest possible audience. This approach aligns with our belief that academic knowledge should be a public good.

University of Bucharest

IRSR was established by the Faculty of Sociology and Social Work at the University of Bucharest, one of the leading academic institutions in Romania and Central Eastern Europe. The university has a distinguished tradition in social science research and education, providing the journal with a strong institutional foundation.
